Only 53% market share for Internet Explorer in Europe

Microsoft is determined to tumble faster

The French AT Internet Institute published the latest browser barometer for Europe in which Microsoft's browser has only a 53% global market share in Europe. Microsoft's plans to release the next version 9 of its browser not for Windows XP will surely help the market share tumble even faster. (2010-07-30)

Apple releases Safari 5

All our customers' websites are ready

Apple added primarily HTML5 features to its Safari browser to enable new web technologies, following the trend from most other browser vendors. It also added a Reader mode that presents a story or newspaper article as just the text for easy reading. The trend among all major browser vendors is to include HTML5 features to enable new webtechnologies. However, most notable in this version is that Chrome has now official releases for both Linux and MacOS. Changed to WorldIP geolocation database

More accurate and up-to-date

Qoben modified its web statistics package it use the WorldIP database. The geolocalisation database is used to convert an IP address to the country of origin. We observed many times that WorldIP is both more accurate and more up-to-date. Our customers benefit with better country statistics. (2010-03-31)

Governments tell citizens to avoid Internet Explorer again

This is the second time that governments issue such a warning

The governments of Australia, France and Germany officially warn their citizens to avoid all versions of the Internet Explorer browser until Microsoft releases a fix for the critical security hole. In 2004 the Dutch government gave similar warning and advise. (2010-01-18)

Security on Internet compromised by MD5

Qoben has replaced all its customers' certificates

Security on the Internet has very recently been compromised by vulnerabilities in the MD5 algorithm. Qoben verified the certificates of all its customers and replaced the ones using MD5 for free. The next step is that web browsers must stop accepting MD5-based certificates. (2009-01-06)
